As a fervent hiker, Henrik Ibsen gave name to a concept already deeply rooted in the Norwegian psyche: friluftsliv (free-loofts-leave). Roughly translated as “life in the free air,” the idea is to immerse yourself in nature, resulting in benefits to mind, body and spirit.

About the event
As a fervent hiker, Henrik Ibsen gave name to a concept already deeply rooted in the Norwegian psyche: friluftsliv (free-loofts-leave). Roughly translated as “life in the free air,” the idea is to immerse yourself in nature, resulting in benefits to mind, body and spirit. A more modern interpretation can apply to any activity that allows you to appreciate the outdoors in a simple manner. There’s no need for stopwatches or competition—in fact, the simpler you go, the better.
We are planning to take a walk/hike on gentle roads and trails in the Timberlakes area, so wear sturdy shoes and layered clothing, hat, sunscreen, etc. Come early or stay late as you wish. After the hike, we will have lunch and sit and visit on the deck. We will have pølse med lompe for all who attend, but we invite you to bring whatever norskmat you'd like to share, including smørbrød, sides or desserts.
