Sew Vintage
I’m Kirsten and I love fabric, texture, and creating. I began sewing when I was 8 years old on my mother’s vintage Bernina 830. My mother (Linda) taught me, and my grandmother (Reta) taught her. I began with simple projects like a finger pillow and a printed skirt. I made anything I could think of out of fabric scraps. I would eventually sew tailored suits and prom dresses. Though my love is fine apparel construction, my training includes heirloom sewing, costuming, drapery, bridal and formalwear, clothing alterations, pattern draping, tailoring, and I’ve dabbled in quilt-making (though it’s my least favorite).
