About the event

The Leif Erikson Chapter 6-83 of Sons of Norway was founded in November, 1966. In the years since, it has been one of the most important contributors honoring and preserving Norwegian culture in Utah.

In 2026, it will be celebrating its 60th anniversary. To honor this legacy--and to ensure it continues for another 60 years--the Leif Erikson Chapter 6-83 desires to establish a more firm footing financially and culturally. In this meeting, we will present a phased approach to achieving this goal, with the end being the establishment of a permanent location for the Sons of Norway and greater visibility for Norwegian culture and history in Utah. Project 2/60 is our attempt to codify this hope in a series of phases:

  1. Strengthening the foundation

  2. Engaging the community more broadly

  3. Assessing our opportunities

  4. Moving forward
