About the event

October 9th is Leif Erikson Day** as well as the day the slooper Restauration will be arriving in New York City. To celebrate these events, we have invited the Vikings of Utah Historical Group to share their knowledge of ancient instruments, music, historical replicas, textile demonstration, stories, runes, and craftsmanship from the Viking Era. If you have been to the Scandinavian Heritage Festival in Ephraim, Swedish Sommerfest at the Peace Gardens, or the Renaissance Festival in Mona, you have seen the amazing work of the Vikings of Utah Historical Group.

To carry on the Viking theme, we would like to sample food that a Viking might have eaten, such as:

  • Roasted pork with lingonberry sauce

  • Roasted turnips, onions, chicken, fish,

  • Non-alcoholic honey mead
