Volunteer to help with 17.mai 2026

Sons of Norway and the 17.mai Committee are working closely together to host this year's 17.mai celebration on May 16th, 2026. We are looking for volunteers to oversee critical areas of the day, including overall coordination; program direction; facilities; fundraising; marketing; and general support. Please provide the information below and indicate which areas you are most interested in (you can select more than one area of interest). AREAS OF INTEREST

EVENT COORDINATOR: Manages permits, park reservations, committee coordination, and volunteer recruitment to ensure the event is fully organized in advance. On event day, oversees operations, supports volunteers, and ensures everything runs smoothly.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR: Plans and coordinates all ceremonial and entertainment elements of the event, including performers, speakers, dignitaries, and parade participation. On event day, oversees program execution and ensures participants and volunteers are properly welcomed and supported.

FACILITIES DIRECTOR: Oversees all site logistics, including restrooms, waste and recycling, equipment transport, tents, tables, seating, signage, flags, and children’s activities to ensure the grounds are fully prepared. Manages setup and teardown, safeguards equipment and property relationships, and ensures the site is clean and left better than it was found.

FUNDRASING COORDINATOR: Responsible for organizing and managing all raffle-related activities before and during the event, including securing donations, preparing tickets and supplies, and setting up tables. On the day of the event, oversees ticket sales, ensures security of money and items, and helps administer the raffle efficiently.

MARKETING DIRECTOR: Responsible for promoting the event before, during, and after, including distributing flyers, coordinating with media and community groups, managing social media, and preparing programs and signage. Oversees event photography, updates the website, and sends thank-you notes to participants and vendors after the event.

GENERAL SUPPORT: I'm willing to help out wherever I'm needed on the day of the event.
