Riskrem


Ingredients

1 3/4 cups white long-grain rice (not minute rice)

1 1/2 quarts whole milk

1 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup confectioner's sugar

2 cups (after whipping) heavy whipping cream

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 whole blanched almond nut (brown exterior skin removed)

1 package frozen strawberry dessert


Directions

Cook rice and milk in double-boiler or very slowly on stove top until milk is absorbed by rice, stirring frequently to avoid sticking to pan.

Add sugar and stir thoroughly.

Chill rice and milk.

Whip whipping cream, add 1/4 cup confectioner's sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.

Fold whipping cream into rice/milk.

To serve: Add 1 tablespoon frozen strawberry dessert on top of each serving.


Insert the almond into a selected serving. The person who finds the almond nut traditionally receives a marzipan pig as a treat.
