What an amazing day! On our way from the hotel to the float this morning in our bunader, we were told by passers-by that our float had won the President’s Award in the Business Class. What a nice surprise and wonderful way to start the day. Thank you to all who showed up early and endured the warm temperatures.

The parade itself was a blast—lots of love from the crowds (some 200,000 attend, we’ve been told). Someone was even playing “Ja Vi Elsker” from loudspeakers at one point along the route. The announcers struggled to pronounce “Syttende Mai” (who put that word in there?!) but at one intersection there was someone with Danish heritage who got it right.

Enjoy the photos and videos below and add your own! Also, check out our post from the Float Preview earlier this week for more information about the float and what it represents.

Kendalyn Harris, Mayor of Bountiful, and Jill Fraiser, Handcart Days parade Chair, mention the Sons of Norway float on ABC TV's Good Things Utah program on Saturday.
