You couldn't ask for better weather Saturday high in the mountains above the Heber Valley at Troll Hagen. Amid the cool air, wildlife, and scenery, we hunted for trolls, burned our names in wood using runic characters, and learned nålbinding. And to top it off, we had an amazing lunch of vafler, smørbrød, pølse med lompe, Ukrainian shuba (herring salad), and more. Thank you to LoriAnne, Anita, and Lisa for all the work they put into preparing the activities and food that made this event so fun. And thank you to all who made the drive to Troll Hagen to make their efforts worthwhile.
Thank you to the Bartons for once again hosting us at their lodge and being so generous with their time. While we enjoyed mild temperatures and sunny weather, by Monday morning snow had fallen at Troll Hagen! As Jim noted: "What a difference a day can make in the mountains. We were so blessed to have such good weather!"
We even did our best to honor the Norwegian World Cup futbol team with a Viking "Ro!' cheer. Can you believe we didn't even practice?!
